I think 饼 is a really difficult word to translate.
last time, a foreigner asked me what's the difference between 煎饼 and 薄饼. i was stuck. for me, it's same to 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝'𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚍𝚒𝚏𝚏𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚝𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚙𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚙𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚊𝚔𝚎.
饼 is a big family for lot's of food. 煎 means fry, 薄 means thin. but fry and thin are not rivals. even, usually, most of 饼 is fried and thin. so, how can i make a difference?
so, back to the first. why 饼 is difficult to translate?
